U.S. Citizenship Preparation
Prepare for the basic U.S. Citizenship skills exam. Study Civics and U.S. Government, and English. Students may complete the application (N400) in class, practice for the Oral Interview, learn key vocabulary words, practice dictation exercises, as well as tips on how to interact with the INS officer, and much more. NO FEE. A commitment of a minimum of 30 hours of instruction will be needed. Practice using tests similar to the INS test will be provided.
Prerequisites:
  • Must be able to speak, read and write basic English
  • Must have Permanent Residency Card (green card) and social security number
  • You must also be ONE of the following:
    • A lawful permanent resident for at least 5 years (4 years, 10 months).
    • A lawful permanent resident for at least 3 years (2 years, 10 months) AND
      AND
      you have been married to and living with the same U.S. citizen for the last 3 years
    • your spouse has been a U.S. citizen for the last 3 years.
Registration is in Room 305. Please bring I.D. and green card.

Improve your English skills at home!
Having trouble attending class everyday? Want to continue studying English at home in addition to your other classes? Unable to attend regularly scheduled classes due to health, work or child care problems? Need English for citizenship? ESL classes include opportunities to study at home with lessons through a series of videos/DVD’s that can be viewed at home. Each lesson includes a workbook. ESL classes will review the information presented in the workbooks and help students track progress.

Using Technology to Enhance Language Learning (UTELL) for All Levels of ESL
(3914)(032013) Course provides students with opportunities to enhance their language learning experience by using computers, interactive software, CD-ROMs and the internet. Class is appropriate for all levels of language skills.
