The adult school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The school's dental programs are also fully accredited by their specific national and state licensing boards.

Coronal Polishing
Approved for 12 CEUs, Students are required to provide three patients on the second day of class. Please note: the school does not provide patients. Prerequisites: 18 years or older; speak, read, write English and be a dental assistant.

California Radiation Safety Course
(4.4255) (3624)(067358). Prerequisites: 18 years or older; speak, read, write English and be a dental assistant. Students are required to provide four dental x-ray patients. Patients must be 18 years of age or older with a minimum of 24 teeth. Students will be told on the first day of class when to bring their patients. Please note: the school does not provide patients.

Pit and Fissure Sealants
(4.4255). RDAs desiring to perform pit and fissure sealant application must complete a two day Board approved sealant course. If you are an RDA or working toward becoming an RDA and possess a coronal polish certification you may enroll in this course. Students are required to provide four patients. Approved for 16 CEUs. Dental Technologist
Dental Technologist/Master Course (2037)(067612): One-year, 1,300 hour program covers either dentures (making full dentures and denture repair) or crown and bridge (fabrication of prosthetic appliances, gold inlays, crowns and bridges). Students who want both courses must complete 2,080 hours (approximately 18 months). Externships available in area dental labs. Prerequisites: 18 years or older; 10th grade reading level or teacher’s approval required. Call instructor at (805) 579-6273.

The National Board for Certification in Dental Laboratory Technology recognizes students who complete the 2,080-hour Dental Technology program as eligible to take the recognized graduate examination. This exam can be taken on the adult school campus. Please see instructor for more information. The Dental Tech program is also affiliated with the National Association of Dental Laboratories and the California Dental Technology Association.

Advanced Dental Technology
Dental Technologist/Advanced Dental Technology (3898)(067712): Advanced classes designed to provide continuing education hours for graduate dental technologists. Classes feature guest speakers from the dental community discussing the latest technologies, trends, products and services available. Classes usually on Saturdays, and vary in length from three to eight hours. Please call (805) 579-6273 for class titles, days, time and costs. Prerequisites: students must be a dental technology graduate, laboratory owner, or certified dental technician (CDT). Register in classroom at the first class meeting.
