Chinese 1 - Basic
The student will learn to use the Chinese language from the very beginning of the learning process with abundant practice materials while experiencing customs and cultural interactions. Attention is paid to the instruction of pronunciation, vocabulary and writing intriguing Chinese characters along with the training of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

Chinese 2 - Basic
This class is for the student with basic knowledge of the Chinese language. Students will enhance their communication skills while expanding vocabulary and expressions. A new method of teaching Chinese characters is utilized to help students read and write intriguing characters.

Spanish 1A
Workplace/Community/Conversational/Spanish Language 1A (4.4000) (3892)(060615): Communicate with your co-workers and the community as you learn basic conversational Spanish. Prepare yourself for business travel and the workplace. Practice your newly acquired Spanish speaking skills on a trip to Olvera Street. Olvera Street is one of the oldest Spanish settlements in California dating from the early 1800’s. Dine in an authentic Spanish restaurant. Beginning class for students with no previous Spanish.

Spanish 1B
Workplace/Community/Conversational/Spanish Language 1B (4.4000) (3892)(060717):If you have any Spanish language experience, this is the class for you. Communicate in Spanish as you review basic phrases and add to your conversational Spanish in social, recreational and business situations. Prepare yourself for travel and the workplace. Practice your newly acquired Spanish speaking skills in a trip to Olvera Street. Olvera Street is one of the oldest Spanish settlements in California dating from the early 1800’s. Dine in an authentic Spanish restaurant. Beginning class for students with any previous Spanish.

Spanish II
Workplace/Community/Conversational/Spanish Language 11 (4.4000) (3893)(060817): Includes basic interpreter skills. Enhance your communication skills as you acquire additional vocabulary and expressions, and learn about Hispanic culture. Build on previously learned language abilities and learn about the diversity in foods, culture, and geography of Spanish speaking countries. Prepare yourself for business travel and the workplace. Practice your newly acquired Spanish speaking skills in a trip to Olvera Street. Olvera Street is one of the oldest Spanish settlements in California dating from the early 1800s. Dine in an authentic Spanish restaurant. Prerequisite: Spanish IA and 1B or equivalent.

Spanish III
Workplace/Community/Conversational/Spanish Language 111 (3893) (060917): Class includes basic interpreter skills. Use Spanish to express yourself and help others using basic conversational skills. Your comprehension and vocabulary grow as we talk and read about travel and workplace experiences and cultural diversity. Prepare yourself for business travel and the workplace. Practice your newly acquired Spanish speaking skills in a trip to Olvera Street. Olvera Street is one of the oldest Spanish settlements in California dating from the early 1800s. Dine in an authentic Spanish restaurant. Prerequisite: Spanish II or equivalent.
