Course Fee: $7,800. $2,500 at time of registration; dates to be determined for remaining installments of $1,950, $1,950 and $1,400. Approximate additional cost of $800 for books, uniform, background check, and classroom CPR.
Course Description: Twelve-month nationally accredited program that prepares students to function within the sterile environment of the operating room assisting surgeons during surgical procedures. The surgical technology fieldrequires physical stamina,manual dexterity, the ability to maintain good working relationships with patience and tact, and the ability to work well in high-stress situations.
Intensive study program includes anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, pharmacology, principles of asepsis and universal precaution techniques, surgical procedures, patient care and clinical experience in area hospitals. Employment opportunities include acute care hospitals, outpatient surgery centers and physician’s offices.

Prerequisites: (Completion of prerequisites is not necessary to begin application process) 18 years or older; U.S. high school diploma, GED® (English version) or U.S. college degree. A physical exam that includes extensive lab work is required, at the student’s expense, after acceptance into the program. Proof of Hepatitis B immunization. A current background check (90 days or newer) will be required before starting clinical at the student’s expense.
